The Jolinar Festival has begun in full swing. The major houses prepare for the main feast in 11 nights, but the celebrations have already begun. On the first night, Fiona danced so well she was chosen to join ‘the Court’. She got dressed up proper makeup’d, and a few splashes of glitter were applied. Although she looked beautiful, she still felt a tad uncomfortable with all the trappings.
Being part of ‘the Court’ she did her best to enjoy the moment and picked out her partner for the night. Unfortunately, that someone was Unger. Unger was the brilliant but awkward final man in the line of Eigenvector. Although his technical know how was superior to others, his application of that knowledge fell a bit short of brilliant. He was clumsy, sometimes dangerous, and often confused. Fiona was hoping for some anonymity in her choice and got the opposite of that. She did her best to lead him through the night and make it as painless as possible.
While Deja was enjoying Fiona’s dilemma, Shen broke off from the group and fed the homeless with the excess food and supplies from the festival.
The next night, Marcax had an offer for Deja, Fiona, and Shen. There was a place in the sewers he was looking to expand into but he had a problem. Rats. Lots of rats. He hated rats, big rats, small rats, human rats, and rats in all their forms. If the guys could clear out the rats, he would be grateful. So off they went.
The sewers smelt lovely as always and there were rats to be encountered, but the real danger was a bit deeper. A gaggle of goblins had gathered for nefarious no-goodery. They fought hard and almost lost, but they managed to scare of the remainder of the goblins, but Deja was the only one standing. It was then that she spotted something the goblins were working over.
It was an automaton that was called ‘Bob’. He informed her that he had a bomb in him built by the goblins. Bob was anxious, but terribly polite about defusing the bomb. He assisted in reviving the others to help Deja with the bomb. Groggy but quickly woken up by the notion of a bomb, Fiona began checking Bob out. It turns out he bomb was a mix of alchemy and mechanics.
Quickly, the two girls defused the bomb while Shen offered silent support for them. Bob was grateful but lonely. The automaton asked if they could afford shelter for him since he could use the companionship and job. The group accepted and would share Bob for now, although Shen uses him the least.
